Introducing me....

Hi, I'm Lorraine. Thanks for visiting my page. I thought you may like to know a little bit more about me, so here goes....

I trained as a midwife in 1997 and qualified in the millennium. Throughout my college and university days I worked pretty hard getting as much experience of caring as I could. I worked in care of the elderly, rehabilitation, early years and mental health settings.

I have progressed well throughout my career in midwifery, completing a number of roles that have given me the opportunity to be involved in some really exciting projects that women will benefit from for years to come.

I have always been motivated to help support people through experiences that will remain with them forever; sometimes challenging them in ways they never imagined, and helping them to achieve their aspirations.

I think that it was the great sense of achievement that I get from this, coupled with my interest in recreational sports that generated my interest with sports massage therapy.

I'm a fortunate to have a wonderful family. We all took up running when our daughter came home from school wanting to practice for cross country. Since then we have progressed from a jog around the local fields of Southam to being regular parkrunners

Over the last year or so, I have started to become interested in triathlon. I LOVE my bike. The swimming has been interesting.....thanks to an amazing teacher and the support of my friends who like to influence, I mean encourage me, I managed to progress from the shark attack technique that I started out with! This Summer (2017) I can't quite believe it but I managed to complete a Half Iron Man without drowning, crashing my bike or getting lost on the run.

I am very much looking forward to the future. Within midwifery, I am refocusing my carer on being at the centre of care for women and so am taking a step back from the management role that I am in and getting my uniform back on!

Within health and fitness, I am expanding my sports massage therapy services by gaining more skills. I am building upon my current qualification and by the end of 2017, will be trained as a Level 4 Diploma sports massage therapist.

Providing a holistic service that focuses on individual needs is really important to me. With that in mind, additional services that will be added to my skills in 2018 will include 1:1 or small group pilates sessions.
